Estriatus Law’s Year 2017

This past year, Estriatus Law successfully assisted companies with a multitude of client matters, such as: developing a range of transactional documents including Master Solar Plus Storage Purchase Agreements, EPCs, O&Ms, PPA project documents, Energy Development Service Agreements, Sales Terms & Conditions, Residential and Commercial Solar Installation Agreements, Product and Energy System Installation Warranties, Site License and Easement Agreements, Master Subcontractor Agreements, Referral Agreements, Solar Origination Service Agreements, Employment, Sales Commission Policies and other HR related documents.  We also assisted with corporate formations and ongoing corporate governance needs for C corps, S corps and LLCs, production guarantees, M&A activities, trademark filings, advising on contractor licensing rules and RME and RMO issues.  We successfully completed the project documents for six mid-sized commercial solar projects ranging up to 1 megawatt in size.

Other matters that we assisted on were providing guidance on the new California PACE legislation that went into effect at the end of 2017 in the form of three new consumer protection bills for Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing of clean energy projects (A.B. 1070, S.B. 242, and A.B. 1284).  Those new laws affect most companies, including contractors, that offer or solicit PACE financing for solar and other clean energy projects.  We also successfully prevented and resolved various utility, contractor, employee and owner disputes that arose during project construction activities and the day to day business of our clients, and assisted with collections for customer projects, solar permitting issues and customer non-payment and bankruptcy matters, including the navigation of settlements for the same.

It is an honor to help the cleantech industry grow during this important time in our global history, and Estriatus Law is looking forward to the year ahead.
