Project: Solar Installers

Date: Ongoing

Summary: Represent multiple installers of PV Solar Systems in substantially all of their legal matters, including general corporate law and governance matters, construction and development, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, employment, contracts, and commercial  matters.


Project: Product Developers & Manufacturers

Date: Ongoing

Summary: Represent multiple startups developing PV solar related technology and devices, including consulting and R&D related to the same, in substantially all of their legal matters, including general corporate law and governance matters, construction and development, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, employment, contracts, and commercial  matters.


Project: 498 kW Solar Project – St. John Bosco High School

Date: 2014

Summary: Represented developer as lead counsel in setting up a 498 kW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) project for St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California.


Project: 445 kW Solar Project – City of Santa Cruz

Date: 2013

Summary: Represented solar contractor and developer as lead counsel to set up a 445 kW power purchase agreement (PPA) and engineering procurement and construction (EPC) agreement for solar project for the City of Santa Cruz.


Case: Akeena Solar, Inc. v. HallMark Services, Inc.

Date: 2011

Outcome: Won

Description: Successfully represented client, Akeena Solar, in arbitration case filed by Akeena Solar against Hallmark et al. for breach of contract under which Akeena was hired as a subcontractor to perform solar installation services under which it has not received final payment in the amount of $222,345.  Received judgment for client against defendants in the amount of $444,244 plus interest at $211.05/day.


Project: 229 kW American Jewish University

Date: 2010

Summary: Successfully represented solar EPC contractor as lead counsel to develop 228 kW EPC for solar project for the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, California.


Case: Board of Equalization v. Akeena Solar

Date: 2010

Outcome: Dismissed

Description: Successfully represented client, Akeena Solar, in resolution of BOE claim for $1.4 million sales/use tax based on an audit of prior contracts in which BOE’s entire claim against client was dismissed.


Project: 358 kW Human Society of Silicon Valley

Date: September 2008

Summary: Successfully represented solar EPC contractor as lead counsel to develop 358 kW EPC for solar project for the Human Society of Silicon Valley in Milpitas, California.
